      • Born on 4 September 1893 to parents John and Juliette Schroeder in Hicksville, Defiance, Ohio
      • At age 10, his father passed away. He was only 52.
      • In the 1910 Census, he was 16 years old and working at a Paper Mill along with his two older brothers in Kalamazoo, MI.
      • Married Mabel Vorce on 30 November 1911 in Kalamazoo, MI when he was 18 years old. They had two children together, a daughter, Helen in 1912 and son, Arthur in 1914.
      • In 1918 his wife, Mable passed away leaving him a widow with 2 young children. She died of influenza and was only 25 years old.
      • In the 1920 Census, he is listed as a Paper Cutter for a Stationary Company.
      • Married Alma Lois Vanocker on 10 December 1920 in Kalamazoo, MI
      • His daughter Bernice was born in 1924 when he was 30 years old and then their daughter, Carol was born in 1940 when he was 47 years old.
      • In the 1940 Census, he is listed as a Carpenter.
      • In the 1950 Census, he was a Storekeeper at a grocery store where his wife Alma also worked as a clerk.

        • In the 1900 Census, his household is living in Adams, Allen County, IN working as a Marble Cutter
        • He and his wife Julia had 5 sons together, Frederick, Arthur, Harry, Clyde and James.
        • Died on 27 September 1904 in Washington Township, Allen County, IN at age 52

          • His wife Sophia died at aged 41 leaving him a widow with 4 children ages 3 to 14.
          • Married Barbara Catherine Weipert on 28 August 1855 in Allen County, IN when he was 44 years old.
          • In the 1860 Census, he was 50 years old and working as a Stone Cutter in Adams, Allen County, IN
          • In the 1870 Census, he was working as a Marble Cutter in Decatur, Adams, IN. He is listed as a Naturalized US Citizen.

        • At age 57, she married John Zolman on 13 February 1913 in Kalamazoo, MI. He was a Civil War Veteran.
        • After only 5 years of marriage, Julia died of Influenza on 23 October 1918 at age 63 in Kalamazoo, MI
        • At the time of her death, she lived at 165 Chicago Ave, in Kalamazoo.
